In March, WTAW were able to fund a delegation of more than 20 teachers from 13 Upper Hunter schools to attend the annual Positive Education Schools Association (PESA) ‘Building Positive Communities’ Conference hosted by Ravenswood School for Girls.

Teachers heard from internationally renowned academics on topics like ‘Getting Grit’, ‘Strengths Based Parenting’, ‘Mental Toughness: an evidence based approach to resilience and peak performance’ and ‘Hope Matters: unlocking the potential in our youth to build a thriving future’.

All of these teachers returned home inspired and have been key to ensuring wellbeing is being given the priority it deserves in our schools.
