Growing mental health in our community is a similar analogy to growing a tree. Where there’s a Will has planted the seed.
PERMA, the trunk, is at the core of Where there’s a Will and provides direction for its growth.
- Positive emotions – feeling good
- Engagement – being completely absorbed in activities
- Relationships – being authentically connected to others
- Meaning – purposeful existence
The PERMA model was designed by Martin Seligman with five core elements of psychological well-being and happiness. Seligman believes that these five elements can help people reach a life of fulfillment, happiness, and meaning and ultimately flourishing.
